What does Sun Sports+ Do in the off season?

It's a running joke between the three of us, "what do we do in the off season?". People think that we just hop on the first plane at the end of the summer and fly off to Florida where we sit on a beach for the winter. If only. We spend the winter prepping for next summer. That's the gist of it. But let's dive in. I'll tell you more.

November at the Shop
The month of November has been busy to say the least. We've had three large shipments come in that we've unloaded, unpacked, sorted, tagged, and put away. The first was from Connelly. The second and third were Radar and Ronix. Before a shipment arrives, Kirsten and I need to prep our inventory system. That process consists of a lot of Microsoft Excel work as well as some number crunching. It's not glamorous. But it's mindless. And in a way, kind of enjoyable. I sit back, put on an episode of Criminal Minds, pour a glass of wine, and sit on the computer for a few hours. Mostly what I'm doing is inputting the barcode information so that when we scan an item at the register, there is information for the sale.
After all those numbers line up, we list all the hardgoods online on our website. We create each listing by hand so that you can go onto our website and see first hand what we have in stock before you enter the store. We will sell some of it online throughout the winter. It may be nerdy, but it's exciting to come by the shop in the off season and pack something that sold online.
We repeat those steps for every order that gets placed. That's the big time consuming thing that takes most of the winter. Other than that, we do have some new things that we are working on!
What's new for next summer:
One new thing that we are excited about is our new website! I am in the process of giving our websites a creative overhaul. Hopefully, I'll be done with that by Christmas.
Harry and I have spent one day a week since we closed filming water sports content for you all. Most of it is educational. We hope that we can help at least one person make an informed purchase in the off season. Other than that, these videos are great training tools for future employees! We learn from each other for sure, but the best educator is the Wizard himself.
We do have one more big announcement to make. But we aren't ready to reveal that surprise just yet. You'll have to stay tuned until February most likely for the big reveal. But I promise you, it's a good one. It's part of the reason Harry and I went to Florida.
