Mother’s Day, But Make It a Lake Day.

Mother’s Day doesn’t have to mean crowded brunch spots and last-minute flowers. Around here, it’s way better on the water.

If you’re in the Lakes Region, the move this year is to kick things off at the Mother’s Eve Festival in Naples. It’s happening the Saturday before Mother’s Day and it’s basically the perfect warm-up to a full weekend outside—local vendors, music, good food, and that early-season energy when everyone’s just stoked to be back by the lake.
Cruise the Causeway, grab something for mom, maybe hang a little longer than planned. No rush.
Gear Up Mom Properly
If you’re going to do Mother’s Day right, you don’t show up empty-handed. You show up with stuff she’ll actually use all summer.
Bogg Bags
Every lake day starts here. Toss everything in—towels, sunscreen, snacks, extra layers—and don’t think twice. They’re tough, washable, and don’t tip over every time someone bumps the dock.
Sand Cloud Towels
Lightweight, dries fast, looks good. Way better than dragging around some heavy old beach towel that never dries.
Maui Jim or Ray-Ban Sunglasses
Glare off the water is no joke. Maui Jims cut it clean, Ray-Bans keep it classic. Either way, mom’s covered and looking sharp.
Reef Sandals
Easy on, easy off. Dock, boat, town, repeat. A fresh pair of Reefs just hits different when the weather finally turns.
For the Mom Who Still Rips
If your mom’s the type who grabs a handle instead of a lawn chair, step it up this year.
The Connelly Women’s Aspect slalom ski is a solid setup—stable, smooth, and fun whether she’s cruising or pushing it a little. And right now it’s going for $449.99 with boots, which is a steal for a full package.
The Plan
Saturday: hit Mother’s Eve in Naples.
Sunday: coffee, boat, sun, repeat.
No big production. Just good gear, good weather, and time on the water.
That’s the kind of Mother’s Day that actually sticks.
